Handbooks in economics

If you’re looking for the best place to learn a lot more about a given topic, the Handbooks in Economics series is a great place to start. These texts attempt to summarize research findings in many subfields of economics. They are not necessarily extremely advanced, however they are probably the closest thing there is to textbooks for advanced material.

It’s not just the series itself I wanted to mention. It’s also the fact that they are available for free online, as PDFs! Unlike those silly e-books which let you view a single page at a time, you can download entire chapters at a time. This is available for most of the handbooks. Of course you must be logged on to UF’s network in order to access these files.
