On January 3-6, the University of Florida University Economics Society (UF UES) will be the first to live-blog the American Economics Association meeting. Ten intrepid souls will journey to New Orleans and spread out amongst the many dozens of sessions, blogging the panelists comments and hopefully meeting many economics celebrities. Although we were not successful in gaining formal sponsorship from Wal-Mart, I believe we will all attempt to wear our UES shirts and have some “corporate flare” much to the chagrin of heterodox economists everywhere.
Expect a flurry of posts on topics ranging from inflation targeting to minimum wage policy and prediction markets. Once again, this is unprecedented — and I haven’t even gotten into how unbelievably nerdy it is. But we are proud to serve the community.
