Dolce & Gabbana Metallic Leather Jacket at Awkward Utopia

Dolce & Gabbana Metallic Leather Jacket

I know, I know, I know. You have a lot of questions. First and foremost should be, why is the Admiral web-browsing anything remotely related to Dolce & Gabbana Metallic Leather Jackets. The answer to that is, as you know, I am first and foremost a fashionista but of a different century. You might also ask yourself, WTF does this have to do with anything under Awkward Utopia’s purview? The answer to that of course is that Awkward Utopia’s subject matter is nothing less than all of human behavior. That’s a rather broad expanse of material to cover, and it is there to which I turn:

Bets on how long it will take for firms in China to reverse-engineer this and get it to us through Wal-Mart for maybe 1/200th the price?

It’s a pretty slick jacket. Before long, Matt will have his avatar outfitted with one. I somehow doubt it will find favor with the rest of the UES masses, however. Still, it will be very appealing to the trendsetters in San Francisco at Starfleet Academy.

Well, I guess I’m going to be one of those old men wearing his “traditional polo shirt and loose fit jeans.” I must admit this D&G piece is fairly hideous, but it does remind me of something…

You’re right, Admiral: this will not find favor with the UES masses… as long as I have any say about it. Egads. Now, a movie event UES should have is a viewing of The Devil Wears Prada! True, most of the characters are annoying, especially the whiny bohemian liberals, but damn the clothes on display are spectacular.

I liked that movie but I didn’t pay much attention to the clothes, although that’s apparently the only reason you are supposed to watch that movie.

For the clothes, yes, and (in my opinion) for Meryl Streep as Miranda.

I enjoyed the movie and am a Hathaway fan. I’m thinking of casting her in my next movie.

I really loved the “get me the unpublished Harry Potter manuscript” part…. I just read that Hathaway is staring in the upcoming Get Smart movie, which is good, because I enjoyed that show even though it was only 1 inch deep.

Furthermore I wrote an arrangement of the Get Smart theme for band my freshman year of high school, and boy was it terrible…. my composing career pretty much ended there.

Get Smart was one inch deep? I think you’re giving it way too much credit. The opening sequence and theme were the best parts of the show. (In fact, I just looked up the theme on YouTube, and OMG! Mel Brooks was co-creator! The show’s just risen a quarter-inch in my estimation!)

Ms. Hathaway is here to stay, especially if I have anything to say about it. So is her co-star in Becoming Jane, James McAvoy, who is a huge Trekker (sadly passed over for the role of Scotty in the new Star Trek in favor of Shaun of the Dead) and portrayed God Emperor Leto II in Children of Dune.
